Vibrant and Fresh

The oldest market in the city for food, Le Marché des Enfants Rouges (Market of Red Children) draws its name from the red uniforms worn by children who once lived in an orphanage nearby. Although today the children have long since grown up and the uniforms have faded away, visitors will still find a plethora of stalls in this indoor market that sell everything from freshly prepared gourmet food, to produce, meats, clothing, and cheeses. There are also a number of small restaurants here that sell a wide variety of different food types – everything from Japanese to Caribbean.
