Black Calvados is an exercise in minimalist interior design. Its usual crowd of models and moguls help create its chic interior, a mix of skinny black dresses and ties. However, the Kobe beef sliders and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese are a step away from the space’s polished elegance. The dress code is as strict as standing room is sparse. However, the space’s polish matches that of its location just five blocks from the Champs-Elysees. Co-proprietor and Soundgarden guitarist, Chris Cornell, made it a “restaurant-slash-bar where you’re going to hear rock music.” Not your average venue with late-night bottle service.
