Bastille day celebrates the storming of the Bastille in 1789, the day the French Revolution began. Celebrations occur throughout the day including Europe's oldest and largest military parade that runs down the Champs-Élysée. However, perhaps the most spectacular of the events is the awe-inspiring fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower. If you are in town during this festive and patriotic day you simply can't miss this amazing show of lights!
* The fireworks display should start around 11pm and can be viewed from the Champs de Mars (on the South side of the Seine, or same side as the Eiffel Tower) or at Trocadéro (North side of the Seine, across the river from the Eiffel Tower)
* We highly recommend arriving early and securing a spot with a good view.
