A City-WIde Celebration

The Nice Carnival is actually one of the largest Carnival celebrations in the world. Thousands of people gather along the Promenade des Anglais to watch floats made of hundreds of thousands of flowers for the annual Flower Battle, 18 different themed floats parade down the streets, and over a thousand musicians set the scene as happy locals dance in the streets as the whole city comes to life in vibrant colors. Nice Carnival is not simply a parade, the festivities range all over the city and last for eight days. The opening and closing festivities are free (and of course there are tons of unofficial free celebrations throughout the city as well); however, some parts of the Carnival such as the Parade of Lights and the Flower Parade cost 10-25euros.
