Got a special night to celebrate while in Nice? Why not try your luck at the only champagne bar in the Old Town, where you can say “cheers” with over 38 types of bubbly. Sample some different varieties and get a few tapas plates to help keep your balance. Of course, everything is delicious here so that should not be too difficult, although you do have a fair amount of tasting to do. The menu is in French, but it is easy to understand and the owner Julien Bosio-Icart is remarkably knowledgeable about champagnes and French cuisine, and will gladly give recommendations to the inexperienced and adventurous. Order some smoked salmon or foie gras, and walk away feeling a bit classier for learning the names of some different types of champagne.
