Devoted to Design

Situated in the architecturally significant Kaartinkaupunk building, the Design Museum is lovingly dedicated to Finnish and foreign design of all sorts. Founded as an educational center in 1894, the remarkable structure that houses the museum was artfully designed by Gustaf Nystrom.

The Design Museum presents an ever-changing display of temporary exhibitions along with a permanent collection of more than 100,000 architectural drawings and more than 75,000 interesting objects. One does not have to be a student of architecture to enjoy an afternoon in this spacious and elegant local landmark.
