Spanning 12.5 acres and over five millennia of design, the Victoria and Albert Museum (or the V&A) and its 4.5 million object permanent display are a great pages to walk to the aesthetic pages of history. Its 145 galleries house some of the finest collections anywhere: from Italian Renaissance sculpture, to East Asian metalwork, to international costumes, paintings, jewelery, and furniture.
Even if design isn't your thing, with the sheer volume of objects, you're sure to find something in the V&A. If, however, design is what you live for, we have to remind you that the V&A does close, and that you cannot sleep on the furniture—all or overnight. But you can always come back.
