wonderful works of art

Originally a collection that was amassed through the 18th and 19th Centuries by the Hetford family and Sir Richard Wallace, this collection has been a part of the British National Collection since 1897, thanks to Lady Wallace, Sir Richard's widow. Housed in a splendid townhouse between Queen Mary's Gardens and Hyde Park, not only is the Wallace Collection in a beautiful part of town, but, on its own merit, it's quite something to behold. With everything from suits of armor to porcelians and suclputure to furniture—and of course, paintings from Rubens to Rembrandt—you're sure to find something to gawk at for a few hours.
