The Hub of London

You’ve probably heard the peculiar name of this bustling intersection, considering it’s in just about every single guidebook on London. No, it’s not a true circus with trapeze acts and exotic animals, but it does have about as much chaos and visual stimulation. In fact, it's reminiscent of New York’s Times Square, complete with large neon displays and an astonishing amount of tourists packed into a relatively small space. The focal point is arguably the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, which features an aluminum statue that resembles Eros, the Greek god of love and beauty. There’s no need to linger, but take lots of pictures, take advantage of the excellent people-watching, and window shopping, and then get out before you’re trampled by the masses.
