More than a Waterway

Visit the London Canal Museum to learn about the history of the canals, which are far more complex than man-made waterways. Though now used for leisurely travel out on the water, these canals were strictly intended for horse-drawn carriage traffic in the early 19th century. A tour of the museum gives visitors the opportunity to view the inside of a narrow boat cabin, learn about the types of people who once used the canals, and understand how cargo was transported.
