Originally built for Edward II in 1305, it was the favorite palace of Henry IV and was the favorite of the Tudor court. But in 1933 the Palace was bought by Stephen Courtauld who redid the interior of the palace in the Art Deco style that was popular in that time. Marvel at the elegance of the Great Hall, Ballroom, even the luxurious bathroom. Follow the impromptu ramps and beams that the Courtauld pet lemur used to get around the house. Don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful gardens and spend the day picnicking on a summer day.
