The third Earl of Burlington definitely didn't have a residents in mind when in he built Chiswick House in honor of Palladio, the renowned Renaissance architect. The Neo-Palladian villa was meant to house the earl's art collection and has continued the tradition to this day, showcasing a number of spectacular works.
