Established in the 1970’s, this series of adjoining retail markets offers just about anything you would want to purchase. The Camden Lock market originated as a craft market, and has now expanded into much more, carrying a variety of goods. The Camden Stables market (focused on clothing and fashion), as well as several other more general markets, is open everyday, attracting both tourists and locals, while the Electric Ballroom (an indoor fashion market) is just open on Sundays. There are other things to do besides shop, as restaurants, pubs and bars line the outer edge of the street markets. These provide a nice (and sometimes much needed) break from weekend crowds, which have been known to reach well over 100,000 people.
