Modern Bridge with a History

The Blackfriar Station is located in Central London connecting the London Underground station to the City of London. Attached to the station is a road and foot traffic bridge crossing the River Thames, with iconic landmarks on either side including the Temple Church and the Oxo Tower.

This innovative bridge has made headlines by taking the title of the world's largest solar powered bridge. The 4,400 solar panels on the roof of the intricate red bridge are expected to provide over half of the power for the London Underground station.

Although the bridge and station are simply means of everyday transportation, their innovation in sustainability and importance to the city is worthy of admiration from visitors and locals alike.
