Right up there with Philadelphia's Liberty Bell and Moscow's Tsar Bell, Big Ben is one of a handful of celebrity bells in the world. This is a must-see in London and is easily one of the most recognizable sights (and sounds) in the city. Big Ben was cast in 1858 and although at one point was cracked and then repaired, it has continued to be rung reliably (at every quarter-hour) over 140 years. Housed inside the Elizabeth Tower of the Palace of Westminster (the home of Parliament), you simply can't miss Big Ben when you're in London.
