The Pride of a Great Naval Power

Never forget that Denmark was founded as a sea-faring nation, and their navy has been an important part of their history. Explore that aspect of their history at the Orlogsmuseet (Royal Danish Naval Museum), located in central Copenhagen. This small, but well-organized, museum includes more than 400 historical ships models, dioramas, displays of naval cannons and uniforms, paintings and navigation instruments. There is also a fascinating display of the interior of a Danish submarine. For children, an 18th century mock-up of a Danish man-o'-war is available for clambering aboard.
