The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi sits at the eastern end of the Charles Bridge in Prague’s Old Town. This particular church was consecrated in 1688 and was one of the first churches in the order of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. This beautiful church may not look like anything special from the outside but step inside and the interior will impress any historian, artist, or churchgoer alike. An extensive religious art collection adorns the stone and marble walls. Gold filigree, large arches, and massive pillars complete this impressive interior. This stunning and historic church is also home to Prague’s second oldest organ that has been played by music legends like Mozart and Dvorák. Live classical concerts are held in the Church often so check online for upcoming shows.
