Hammer and Sickle

The theme of the Museum of Communism is, believe it or not, communism, and more specifically, "Communism - The Dream, the Reality, and the Nightmare." Visitors will learn about the totalitarian regime that reigned behind the iron curtain after WWII and until its fall in 1989. Located near Wenceslas Square, the museum gives an accurate portrayal of what life was like under communism in Europe and Czechoslovakia but more specifically in Prague. The museum is made up of artifacts, multimedia presentation, and accounts from those that lived through the regime. There is also an Interrogation Room that examines one of the more brutal tools used by the communists during their time in power.
