Summer Palace Park

Founded by Count Karel Chotek in 1832, The Chotek Gardens were the first public park in the entire city. The gardens themselves sprawl out from under Queen Anna’s massive English-style summerhouse and feature a variety of pleasant sights, making them a great way to spend a day out in the fresh air. Wander through the gardens and discover all the wonderful features it has to offer such as the pond with a memorial to Julius Zeyer, a sculpted Bohemian lion created by Josef Max, and the fifty-five different plants and trees growing in the gardens. Best of all access to the gardens is free.
