Set on Curacao's far northwestern coast near Westpunt, Playa Forti's a beach worth tracking down. It's an open, sunbathed swath of sand and pebbles that enjoys quite the view out to sea: a spot to kick back on a towel, wade into the turquoise shallows, and, yes, pinch yourself occasionally as a reminder that you really ARE presently experiencing a postcard-worthy Caribbean beach scene firsthand.
Perhaps the most notable feature of Playa Forti, though, is an oceanfront scarp, some 30 feet tall or so, which beckons for a little Curacao-style cliff-jumping. A restaurant and some snack bars, meanwhile, are on hand to attend to your appetite.
