Stately Country Living

Built in the mid-1850s (making it a newcomer to the landhuisen of Curaçao), the original portion of Landhuis Zeelandia features Caribbean architectural details, styling that take advantage of the winds due to the positioning of the building high on the grounds.

An addition to the original portion of this colonial mansion enhances the magnificence of a structure rich in color, verandas, and columned arches. Landhuis Zeelandia was never actually used as a plantation, but rather it served as a retreat in the country for the wealthy individuals living in town, a fact that is easily recognized by its outdoor style of living.
