More than a few tout Grote Knip (aka Playa Abou) as Curacao's single finest beach. That's a bold claim, but there's no question it's a contender. Here you'll find a lovely cove shouldered by cactus-dotted cliffs and caressed by turquoise waters.
The beach—downright luminous in full sunshine—has everything you need for Caribbean-caliber R&R: palm-thatch cabanas, a well-stocked snack bar, and plenty of fluffy sand for laying out a towel and sacking out awhile. Migrate from cabana shade to sun-warm sand to cooling shallows: That's the "rough" routine at Grote Knip. You can also stroll from here to the cove's little brother, Kleine Knip (Playa Kenepa)—worth a visit, too. There's a nice far-reaching view midway between.
