Caribbean Art in a Plantation Mansion

This gallery in Landhuis Habaai is the largest and oldest art gallery on Curacao. The collection is located in a former plantation house and features local and Caribbean art with collections of paintings, ceramics, sculpture, dolls, and jewelry from the area.

Along with a stunning collection of art, the Gallery is a good stop to view mid-18th century architecture in this beautifully preserved space. The mansion began as a plantation and later became a country house and then a boarding school but still maintains its originally architecture. The gallery encompasses the original mansion along with a northeastern wing that was added in the 19th century. In addition to the art, you will see photographs and maps of the area.
