For centuries a plantation growing lemons, oranges, indigo, and other crops—and a strategic shore used by the U.S. troops in World War II to repel German U-Boats—Blue Bay has transformed into one of Curacao's loveliest resorts. Dabbling in some golf and tennis by the seashore, nursing an umbrella drink from the beach bar on one of the island's great swaths of sand, diving over the plunging and fish-thronged coral wall of the bay's "house reef"—this place pretty much hits all the marks when it comes to a tropical getaway.
