Established in 1906, this Buddhist monastery is one of the most famous sites in the Hong Kong area. The bronze Tian Tan Buddha statue is it's crowning attraction, thoughtfully gazing north to look over the Chinese people. Originally erected in 1993, this bronze statue sitting 34 metres high. Travel to the monastery by gondola, or by bus, and enjoy a tour of the "Precious Lotus" monastery. A popular vegetarian restaurant is located at the monastery, as well as opportunities (if you wish) to pray.
