Downtown Victoria has a decidedly vintage vibe, and from the moment you walk up to the brick, wood, and stained glass exterior of the building housing Ferris' Upstairs Oyster Bar, you'll be feeling the spirits of those who partied and dined here long before you. Trek up the skinny staircase and find yourself in a cozy room with deeply colored wooden floors, exposed beam ceilings, and brick walls decorated with huge works of art, all set aglow by candlelight. The tall, skinny windows at the front let in the glowing, golden lights from the street. This is one of the best places ever to have meaningful conversations over dinner or, later on, accompanied by delicious appetizers and specialty cocktails that are as much art as potable.
