Sushi, Shooters, and More

The exterior of Octopus Garden is framed by a quaint bamboo porch, reminiscent of something you might have seen in an old Japanese cartoon. The presentation of the food is equally ethereal and compelling. All of this is a prelude to a Japanese menu that is consistently rated as some of the best in Kitsilano.

You'll find some unique twists on old trends here, such as the caterpillar roll that actually looks like a caterpillar. The bar here also serves "shooters"; a shot glass filled with delicacies like sea urchin and quail egg. Despite some modern flair, ingredients and recipes are totally authentic, right down to the "okama", or special rice cooking pot.
