When Francesco Pero started baking in Cesenatico, Italy at the tender age of 13, he knew he wanted to make a lifelong career of it. He brought that love of baked goods to Canada, starting first in Montreal and then opening Italia Bakery in Vancouver in 1985. Sam Pero, the current owner, started helping his dad when he was eight and continues the family tradition today of baking high-quality Italian products.
The bakery offers standard Italian goodies like Cannoli, Chocolate Eclairs, and Sfgoliatelle along with a variety of Italian bread and buns, cookies, cakes, and grocery and deli items. The bakery also offers gift baskets and platters and is happy to create cakes and trays of desserts for that special occasion.
