Outstanding Temple

Besides serving the Lower Mainland's Mahayana Buddhist population and contributing to the cultural expression of greater Vancouver's Chinese-Canadian population, the International Buddhist Society's also notable for its absolutely stunning Buddhist temple. Capped with a golden tiered roof with upswept eaves and edged by a traditional garden, the International Buddhist Temple's renowned as North America's finest example of imperial-style Chinese architecture.

Open to one and all and free to visit, the temple is easily worth the foray out of Vancouver south to Richmond. A feast for the senses and a beautiful expression of Buddhist artistry, it also attends to your appetite with the veggie fusion eatery Taste of Zen, set in the Thousand Buddha Hall.
