The annual Dragon Boat Festival is a fun, family-friendly event that spans over three days of festivities and racing. The festival is held at Concord Pacific Place, Creekside Park and the waters of False Creek.
Dragon boat racing is an exciting watersport, with 20 paddlers sitting in pairs along the boat, a drummer to help keep stroke time, and another person at the helm to steer the boat. For more than 2000 years, dragon boat racing has been an important part of southern Chinese culture.
The Dragon's Den family area provides a family-friendly place for children and families to enjoy a number of activities. There are also several interactive circus performances to watch. After a day of watching the dragon boat races, you can head over to the main entertainment stage to enjoy some excellent live music performances.
