Only serious hikers and scramblers should attempt the Lions Binkert Trail, which is rated as difficult. The first part of the trail is fairly easy, but becomes steeper and rockier as you go higher; the total elevation is over 4,000 feet and the round trip is 10 miles.
It's recommended that you hike between July and October. The plateau below the West Lion is the usual place to end your hike; you need proper climbing equipment to go further. The views are incredible and make the hike well worth it.
