The Artisan Sake Master is officially Canada's first locally produced fresh, premium sake. The Master Sake-maker specializes in creating handmade, small-batch sake from the commercial winery on Granville Island.
Where possible, the Master Sake-make creates all the sake available from local ingredients. Although much of the rice used is imported from Japan, there are efforts to improve locally grown rice crops in Fraser Valley in order to ensure all sake create will be made from local produce in future.
There are tasting programs available for those who want to sample the different styles of sake available.
