The long awaited Ripley's Aquarium of Canada finally opened in 2013 in downtown Toronto after plans to open in Niagara Falls in 2007 fell through. The change certainly hasn't sabotaged its popularity.
Over 135,000 square feet of indoor space allow and encourage visitors to explore the waters of the world. From scales to tails, over 16,000 aquatic animals are represented and reside within tanks spanning 1,506,000 gallons in size and depth. The family-friendly aquarium is divided into nine galleries, with names such as Canadian Waters, Discovery Center, Dangerous Lagoon, Ray Bay, and Planet Jellies. Dangerous Lagoon contains the aquarium's largest tank which holds 750,000 gallons of water on its own. Buy tickets ahead of time to save time and money.
