Dave Mottershall's six years of chef experience at Alberta's Banff Springs Hotel, seven years in PEI kitchens, and experience as a food photographer had already put him on the map. So convincing total strangers on his exploding Instagram page to pay into a Kickstarter account to fund his own dream restaurant, Loka, was pretty much a piece of cake.
Opened in 2015, the 32-seat Queen Street restaurant explores Canadian cuisine with combinations of Latin American and Salvadoran cuisine flavors.
