In the Heart of Old Quebec

The Fountaine de Tourny has a storied past. It started its life in France at the World's Fair. For the next 100 years, it adorned a popular street in Bordeaux before being removed due to "maintenance costs". An antiques dealer picked it up next, and that's where the founder of the Simons department store chain found it and purchased it. Simons then gifted it to the city of Quebec, covering the cost of shipping and restoring the majestic masterpiece. The city prepared the site and it has been a happy addition to Parliament Hill since 2007.
