One of the most highly regarded skiing attractions in Alberta, Mount Norquay offers a wide range of year-round activities. It's located just five minutes from Banff, and only 65 miles (112 km) from Calgary. Average snowfall is 120 inches - that's about 300 cm - but snowmaking capabilities keep the runs going all season. The ski trails have 1,650 feet (503 meters) of vertical drop, with 60 trails spread over 190 acres. There are also five lifts, including a high-speed quad chairlift.
A snow school is on-site, and tubing and snowshoeing are also available. The Cliffhouse Bistro offers fine dining at 7,000 feet. Even if you plan to visit the area during the summer, hiking and climbing activities make a trip worthwhile.
