If you plan to visit Banff, be sure to take the time to soak in the mineral waters of the hot springs. Located just a few kilometers from downtown - drive or take the ROAM bus service - a small fee will give you the opportunity to spend a few hours (or the entire day) in the wonderful waters at the foot of Sulphur Mountain, at a 5,200-foot altitude!
There is a fee, but the site includes a café, gift shop, picnic sites and walking trails. The springs are open throughout the year (except late October, when they're closed for maintenance).
