Whale Bay Beach makes a lovely destination anytime of year, with its little belt of cliff-nestled sand and placid swimmable waters. Its appeal only increases in springtime, when the shoreline lives up to its name: Migrating humpback whales are often visible from here humping their way north in April and May. The grassy heights behind the beach make a fine whale-watching perch and picnic ground.
