Want to ditch the crowds? St. Catherine's Beach northeast of St. George's is usually a good bet, though it's just a hop, skip, and a jump from busy Tobacco Bay.
This arc of fluffy sand--sometimes called Gates Bay Beach--paints a pretty picture, with the beautifully austere profile of St. Catherine's Fort looming to the immediate north and a rank of breezy palms backing up the scene.
