Tourist beaches abound on Bermuda, but Somerset Long Bay Beach isn't one of them. That doesn't mean you shouldn't seek it out. This lengthy Sandy's Parish strand, most heavily used by locals, is a lovely one, and it comes flanked on either side by other attractions; the Somerset Long Bay Nature Reserve just inland, and calm shallow waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling just offshore.
When you've had your (temporary) fill of sand between your toes, the nature reserve is a great place to birdwatch and to admire native vegetation such as Bermuda juniper and Bermuda palmetto, which have been restored here.
