Eating Ethiopian

If you're feeling especially adventurous, or if you want to branch out from beer, mussels, and waffles, Toukoul is definitely a place to try. Run by the same owners of popular Ethiopian restaurant Kokob, Toukoul is centrally located and popular with the locals. Meals can be ordered in sets, in the traditional shared family style, or as individual plates. The dinner menu is much larger than the lunch menu; for dinner, you can try diced lamb with turmeric, beef stew with spinach, or a vegetable medley with tarragon, all served on top of injera, a traditional sourdough flatbread. Toukoul also regularly has live music, usually Ethiopian, and the wait service is usually very relaxed, so sit back and enjoy.
