At the heart of Sablon, a neighborhood known for its antiques and chocolates, rests Notre-Dame du Sablon, a Gothic-style church worth the visit. Though it's not as large as the Notre-Dame in Paris, Notre-Dame du Sablon is still vastly intricate in design. White and grey stones contrast the brilliant colors of the stained glass windows and the dark wood pulpit. Hefty stone columns serve to hold up the arched ceiling and buttresses line the interior. Built in the 15th and 16th centuries, Notre-Dame du Sablon is a classic example of a lesser-known and yet impressively ornate and beautiful European church.
