Reputedly a favorite of the Brussels police, De Pistolei offers great sandwiches at low prices in the central part of the city. All subs are made in front of you on fresh baguette bread, and presented in combos such as the "American" which features onion, tomato, and tartar. If sandwiches are not your style, the restaurant also serves items like a soup du jour or chicken curry with rice. De Pistolei is also open for breakfast when the pre-dawn hunger pains hit; you can get coffee, juice, and a pastry for just five euro.
