A unique place with breath-taking views, the soup bowl is so called because of the expanse of boiling surf that's been created by the scattered coral rock formations. It's a major surfing destination, but not great for swimming, due to the abundance of sea urchins.
Popular with weekending Bajans, the Soup Bowl has a lovely sandy beach, set in pleasantly rustic surroundings. There isn't much shade or options for refreshment or entertainment, so it's best to come prepared.
If you're not there to surf, it's a good place to lounge on warm sand, or cool off sitting in one of the famous rock pools. You can even simply marvel at the natural rock formations while sipping a rum punch.
