Vienna's Most Visited Attraction

With about 3 million visitors each year, Stephansdom is the most visited tourist attraction in Vienna. The massive gothic structure has been around since the 12th century, and is a very impressive sight with its tall bell tower and intricate tile roof. If you feel like sticking around for a while, you should definitely think about taking a guided tour through the cathedral; you can tour the north and south towers (which affords a spectacular view of the city), the catacombs, and take a tour of the treasure, as well—if you can't make up your mind, there's also an all-inclusive option. But for the sweet cost of nothing, you can simply tour the main nave and marvel at the imposing walls, which are often lit in an attractive rainbow pattern.
