If you travel to the outskirts of Vienna, you’ll find this 6,000 acre nature and wildlife reserve, which is always full of new things to explore. If urban trips can get a little overwhelming at times, parks like this are a true relief for the real nature lovers out there. Originally used as a recreational hunting ground for the Habsburgs, the park is now home to many types of animals, and also has man made amenities like public restrooms and towers from which visitors can see panoramic views of the entire region. The entire park is open 9 months out of the year, but you can still explore a decently sized portion of it during the winter months, when it’s especially beautiful in the snow. Pack plenty of snacks before you go, because you might just decide to spend the whole day out here.
