Walk Through Vienna's Past

Vienna's rich imperial heritage and its gastronomic culture attract people from all over the world. Vienna was the residence of the Habsburg family and became the capital of the Holy Roman Empire in the 15th century. Since the architectural activity was dominated by the court, the aristocracy, and the church, Vienna is dotted with beautiful palaces, public buildings, monuments, and churches. On this walking tour, you will see the Hofburg (the imperial residence and apartments) walk along the elegant Kohlmarkt with the famous Demel pastry shop, then along the Graben to the Pestsäule (plague column), and finally to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, landmark of the city. This tour is a great introduction to the history and culture of Austria's capital.
