Located in the outskirts of town is the Mayer am Pfarrplatz heuriger. A heuriger is a wine tavern that serves wine from the latest harvest. The winery produces several award winning wines with their specialty being the "Vienna mix," made with four to six grape varieties. It also offers a buffet of traditional Austrian food that pairs beautifully with the wines. Sip a glass as you sit outside under shady grape vines, then retreat inside when a traditional Viennese Schrammel quartet starts to play at 7pm. If a glass of wine is not enough, feel free to purchase a couple bottles to indulge in at your own comfort. Take a taxi to get here, as it is a fair distance from the center of town.
