Earl's Juke Joint plays homage to the roadhouses and blues clubs of the American South. It's named for pioneering New Orleans rock-'n-roll drummer Earl Palmer, bedecked with posters honoring blues and R&B legends, and appropriately soundtracked. This sets the stage for partaking of the bar's expertly served libations, particularly the worth-writing-home-about spread of cocktails.
It all adds up to a very serviceable and well-intentioned job invoking the sultry atmosphere of a Louisiana night right in the heart of Newtown.
