Pinky Beach occupies the northeastern shore of Rottnest Island, a very popular Indian Ocean getaway just off the Perth coast. The beach is justly renowned as one of the best in the city's vicinity: fluffy white sand, turquoise-mottled waters, a few offshore rocks, and the pale beacon of the Bathurst Lighthouse, built in 1900, rising above its eastern end. Pinky Beach gives you a pretty swath of littoral for sun-worshipping and swimming, but don't expect to have the place to yourself. But hey--there's beauty and leisure enough to go around at this "Rotto" gem.
